Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-time Students

Welcome

Dear Students: On behalf of the LAMPS council I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning students for the 2007-2008 academic year at Laurentian University. It is shaping up to be a busy year with many social events and a Provincial Election and Referendum on October 10 that will have a big impact on students. I invite you all to come by our office and lounge at our new location in SCE 228, in the Student Centre. Our family friendly on campus operation is complete with books, movies and games for children, an infant comfort station, a breast feeding station, a couch and public internet access. Our primary purpose is to serve and advocate on behalf of the mature and part-time student population. In order for this to be effective we need to hear from you. We are here to listen to your concerns about ways we can improve our services and advocate for universal access to high quality post-secondary education. We would like to thank our members and volunteers for their participation and feedback. We are always looking for volunteers so if you want to help plan social and political events, join in a demonstration or just sit at our monthly council meetings contact us! We have listened to your needs and concerns and made progressive changes, implemented new policies, increased the quality and scope of our services and advocacy raising our presence within the University community. Help us make 2007-2008 an even more exciting year by putting yourself behind the student movement! in solidarity, Steve Mallet Vice President
