WP8 Filtrix filter patch page

The Wayback Machine - https://web.archive.org/web/20110823165654/http://olivier.pk.wau.nl/~valentyn/wp8fix/

Below are the files to patch your WordPerfect 8.0 installation, to make the Filtrix filters work again.

New! Solaris fix!

Thanks to Peter Polkinghorne, IT Manager at Kingsford Stacey Blackwell, the patch has been ported to Solaris. See below for a download, and see README.solaris to see the Solaris specific information.

Rick Kelly reports: "This patch also works fine for Wordperfect 7 for Solaris". (This probably means that it works for other WP7 installations as well).

About the fix

These files were kindly donated by Open Office NL - no, we are not related to Sun Microsystems in any way and we were first (but Sun is bigger). Open Office is a Linux desktop company. We made these patches because our customers needed them. We hope they are useful to you, too.

For more information about Open Office, see www.openoffice.nl. Oh, it's under construction, and in Dutch.

For more information about this patch, send mail to wp8-support@nospam.openoffice.nl (and yes, you can leave that weird "nospam" thing where it is, the mail address works).

For more information about how Corel drops it's WordPerfect userbase, see here.

Usage:
Download the file wp8filtrixfix.tar.bz2 if you have the bzip2 program, otherwise download wp8filtrixfix.tar.gz.

Then use the following commands:

tar -zxf wp8filtrixfix.tar.gz
cd wp8fix
more README
more INSTALL
... and follow the instructions from there. (Oh, if you downloaded the .bz2 file, you can best unpack it with "bunzip wp8filtrixfix.tar.bz2; tar -xf wp8filtrixfix.tar", as the tar command for calling bunzip2 changes every 6 months now). up one directory
