Maui's dolphins need more protection

The President of our Society, Professor Helene Marsh, has again written to the New Zealand government urging them to do more to protect Maui's dolphin - see second item on the list of "Latest News" at the right of this page. The key concerns are the very small population size (55 individuals 1 year and older) and continued overlap between Maui's dolphins and fishing methods known to cause mortality of small cetaceans (gillnet and trawl fisheries).

Registrations for the conference are continuing to come in

You can register for the conference anytime, including at the conference itself. Registration for workshops closes on 14 November, so sign up for these now. Some of the workshops have a limited number of sponsored places. To take advantage of reduced prices for several of the workshops, sign up as soon as you can.
