:: CIRT ::

CIRT conducts specific organisation-oriented programmes for State Transport Undertakings. In case there is a sizeable number of managers to be trained in general management or any functional area, the Institute can conduct the programme accordingly to make it organisation-specific.

Based on the Institute's previous experience, it has identified the following types of programmes :

1. Foundation Courses
These are meant for management trainees who have been recruited to hold general management and functional positions. The programmes range between 4 and 8 weeks depending upon the training needs arrived at through mutual discussions between the concerned organisation and CIRT faculty. These programmes are conducted on the CIRT campus.

2. Management Appreciation Programmes
These programmes are basically intended for Senior Supervisors who have put in over 10 years of service and are likely to be promoted to managerial cadre. Such experienced supervisors usually have in-depth functional expertise. They will, however, need an overview of other functions and also the integral ability to look at the organisation as a single entity. The programmes will be of 4 weeks duration to be conducted on the CIRT campus.

3. Short Duration Functional Programmes
CIRT also undertakes functional programmes in Maintenance Management, Traffic Management, Materials Management, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Applications and Financial Management. These programmes can be conducted either at CIRT or at locations chosen by the concerned organisations.

4. In-Situ Programmes
To meet the specific need of the client organisation, the Institute can conduct programme in the premises of the client organisation.For conducting in company programmes, CIRT needs sufficient advance notice so that the faculty can prepare a status paper focussing on the problem areas.
