ESTABLISHMENT
Sabah Sport Board formerly known as the Sports and Culture or LSKS ever created on September 1, 1976 pursuant to Enactment No. 13 of 1976 but by the specific reasons Sabah Cultural Board Sports and frozen in December 1978.
Sports and Sabah Cultural Board was revived on 01 January 1981 under the Enactment No. 19 of 1981. Next with the new enactment, the board is working under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports Affairs.
SEPARATION
On December 31, 1996, the Board of the State Sports and Culture of Sabah has been split into two separate entities, known respectively as the Sports Authority of Sabah and Sabah Cultural Board. Sabah Sports Board is established under the Enactment No. 19 of 1981.
FEATURES

a) Functions of the Board pursuant to Part (V) 24 Enactment No. 19/81 shall establish and maintain Centres which will be known as sports centers for the purposes of: -

i) uplift the standard sports activities including supervision of all sports perngkat in Sabah;

ii) start a training plan and other plans that can best contribute to the special requirements of the local and State;

iii) broadcast purposes, goals and activities centers;

iv) advise clubs, associations or institutions on matters that melipiti all aspects of sports according to qualification that centers;

v) serve as a forum to discuss the problems of management and supervision organizations in the development of sport;

vi) establish and maintain organizations with similar agencies or others;

vii) do all things incidental to or arising from the performance of its functions under this Act.

b) The Board may impose such costs as it thinks fit for the training courses, lectures, consultation or investigation or other service provided or performed by the Centres.
