The Scottish Government funds projects in a number of countries in Sub Saharan Africa through our International Development Fund and our Climate Justice Fund. The main programmes are outlined below:
- Malawi Development Programme - Scotland has many long standing links with Malawi and the Scottish Government has been funding projects there since 2005. We now fund over 40 projects in the country across a variety of themes.
- Sub Saharan Africa Development Programme - The Scottish Government also funds projects in Zambia, Tanzania and Rwanda with a focus on food security and improving access to clean water.
- Sport Relief Programme - The Scottish Government also has a programme in partnership with Sport Relief that is funding projects in Malawi, Uganda and South Africa.
- Climate Justice Fund - A total of 5 projects are being funded in Malawi and Zambia to help people in vulnerable communities deal with the impacts of climate change.
