Overview

BlackBerry World will be transitioning to a free apps only storefront as of April 1st 2018.

What does this mean for customers?

  • Purchasing applications via the BlackBerry World storefront will appear available but purchases cannot be completed
    • Users attempting to purchase apps will receive the following error

  • Purchasing mechanisms with be disabled in BlackBerry World
  • Free apps will be readily available and app developers will be able to switch current paid apps to "free" (Developers may monetize the apps through other methods not controlled by BlackBerry)
    • Any payments made using monetized free apps would need to be fully supported by the app developer

Workaround
